Mark Knobel, SE
Senior Vice President

Mr. Knobel is a Senior Vice President with over 30 years of experience in designing residential, industrial, commercial and institutional buildings.

Mr. Knobel earned a BSCE and a MSCE degree from the Institute of Construction Engineering in Odessa, Ukraine. He is a licensed structural engineer in Illinois. His industry affiliations include the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois and the American Concrete Institute.


Ross K. Anderson, PE
Vice President

Mr. Anderson is a Vice President specializing in construction projects. Mr. Anderson serves as the Manager of Engineering for BPC Airport Partners for the O’Hare International Airport Modernization Program.

Mr. Anderson earned a BSCE degree from Utah State University and is a registered professional engineer in four states, including Illinois.

 

Robert Blasius, PE
Vice President

Mr. Blasius is a Vice President with a distinguished career. Over a 40-year period working at IDOT, he was responsible for the planning, design and construction of approximately 1,300 highway construction projects totaling over $1 billion. With BB&A since 1992, Mr. Blasius provides project development services and serves as a client liaison.

Mr. Blasius earned a BSCE degree from the University of Illinois and is a registered professional engineer in Illinois. His affiliations include memberships with the American Public Works Association and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials.

 

Sandor Ferenczi, PE, SE
Vice President

Mr. Ferenczi is a Vice President and Chief Structural Engineer specializing in the planning and design of highway and railroad bridge, tunnel and public transportation facility projects. He also supervises plan preparation, project management and contract plans for BB&A projects.

Mr. Ferenczi earned a BSCE degree from the University of Civil Engineering, Budapest, Hungary. He is a registered professional engineer and a licensed structural engineer in Illinois. His industry affiliations include the American Institute of Steel Construction, the Masonry Institute of America, the Post-Tensioning Institute and the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois.

 

Walter Rymsza, PE
Vice President

Mr. Rymsza is a Vice President specializing in railroad bridge design. He has designed significant railroad bridge structures across the country. His expertise includes foundation design, soil mechanics and structural rating of railroad bridges.

Mr. Rymsza earned a BSCE and a MSCE degree from the Warsaw Polytechnic in Poland. He is a registered professional engineer in Illinois. He currently serves as the Chairman of Subcommittee 2 of Committee 8: Concrete Structures and Foundations of the American Railway and Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA).

 

Richard Stafford, PE
Vice President
Mr. Stafford is a Vice President specializing in civil design. He has more than 20 years experience in the Phase I planning and Phase II design aspects of transportation engineering. His work concentrates on alternatives development and plan preparation focusing on complex freeway systems and urban arterial systems.

Mr. Stafford earned a BSCE from Michigan Technological University. He is a registered professional engineer in Illinois.  His affiliations include the Transportation Research Board and the Institute of Transportation Engineers.  Stafford is also the co-author of a chapter in the Traffic Engineering Handbook (5th edition) entitled “Geometric Design of Highways.”

 

Brian Umbright, PE, SE
Vice President

Mr. Umbright is a Vice President specializing in structural engineering and design of highway bridges. His responsibilities include supervising staff engineers and technicians, ensuring compliance with codes and standards and reviewing plans and specifications for clarity, conciseness and completeness.

Mr. Umbright earned a BSCE and a MSCE degree from the University of Illinois. He is a registered professional engineer and licensed structural engineer in Illinois. His industry affiliations include the American Concrete Institute, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the IDOT Bridge Subcommittee of the Consulting Engineering Council of Illinois and the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute.

 

 

Jeffery Jackowski
Vice President
Mr. Jackowski is a Vice President and Manager of the Construction Department. His experiences include construction management, construction inspection, scheduling, estimating and material testing. He has managed airport, highway and building projects. He joined the firm in 1993.

Mr. Jackowski earned a BS in Construction Engineering Technology and an AAS in Architectural Technology from Purdue University, Calumet. He holds several IDOT and Nicet certifications for construction work.
